The Rookie of the Year trophy is awarded to the player, aged 23 years or younger at the start of the season, that was the most proficient in his first SHL season.
Our first nominee for Rookie of the Year was #26 Chanokchon “Tan” Limpinphet of the Aware. Tan had a very good season, finishing off the 2016-2017 regular season with 10 points.

Our second nominee was #73 Krittapad “Peam” Jaratwuttipreeda of the Sukhumvit Spitfires. Peam had a very solid season finishing off the 2016-2017 regular season with 2 points on the season.

The winner of the 2016-2017 Rookie of the year went to Chanokchon “Tan” Limpinphet a forward for the Aware. Tan is 18 years old and looks to have a bright future with the SHL. In his 16 games during the 2016-2017 regular season and playoffs, he scored 5 goals and put notched up 12 points. He also scored 1 game winning goal (GWG) as well as one power play goal (PPG) and averaged 0.75 points per game.
