From the SHL Front Office:

At the start of last night’s Spitfires vs Aware game, the starting goalie for Spitfires was not dressed and on the ice prior to the opening face-off. The official rules of the SHL state:

Teams are expected to be ready to play at the scheduled start time. A minimum of 10 skaters and 1 goaltender are required to start a game. If the team fails to have 10 skaters and 1 goalie by the scheduled opening face-off, the game will be forfeited. The team with the required number of players will receive points for a 1 – 0 win. The game will still be played, but a 1-0 win is recorded. Forfeited games will not be re-scheduled.

In accordance with the above rule, the result of last night’s Spitfires vs Aware game will be changed to represent a 1-0 Aware victory.  Further, none of the statistics from the game will be counted as official SHL statistics.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind all players about the seriousness of showing up on time and be ready to play as scheduled.

Thank you for your continued support.
