The Sport Corner Siam Hockey League News – Week 2 – November 19-23, 2017

We had a great week of games this week. On the 19th, in the first game we had Expedia vs Sukhumvit Spitfires which was a close game with the Spitfires pulling out a victory in the third period. In the second game we had Aware going against Hertz, which turned into another close game coming down to the last seconds of the game with Aware coming out on top 3-2.

On November 26, 2017, we had a night of firsts.

In the game at 20:30, we had the Sukhumvit Spitfires going against Aware, and at the opening face-off, the Spitfires were missing their netminder, Dream Ungkulpattanasuk, so they ended up being our first forfeited game in the history of the Sport Corner Siam Hockey League. That being said, Aware and the Spitfires decided to have a friendly Spitfires’ captain, Brad Wilson stepped up to the plate and was the sixth man on the ice being a floating d-man/goaltender for the Spitfires in the first period and stopped 10 of 12 shots in the first period.

In the second game at 21:30, we had Hertz vs Expedia. Hertz opened this one up early with a goal less than a minute into the game, but that’s as far as Hertz could go with Expedia scoring the next 11 goals of the night. Jordan Ashton netted a double hat-trick and sub netminder for Expedia stopped 34 of 35 shots.
