SHL News Week 11

We’ve just finished off the eleventh week of the SHL.

In our first game of the night, we had KCG going head to head with Siam Mandalay. This was really a game physical play vs a game of skill play. At the end of the first period, the score was tied one-one with a goal by Ernesto Bauer for Siam Mandalay and a goal by Jan Isaksson for KCG. In the second period, Siam Mandalay took the lead and increased it to two with both goals coming from Turner Johnson. Early in the third period, Siam Mandalay increased their lead to three with a goal by Darius Konotopetz. With just over five minutes left in the third period, it was like Siam Mandalay just ran out of gas and KCG’s Jan Isaksson scored, followed by a goal from Peam Jaratwuttipreada. Isaksson tied things up with just over two minutes left in the game and Patrick Forstner getting the game winning goal with less than thirty seconds left in the game.

The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Jan Isaksson for his hat trick and assist.

In the second game we had Aware facing off against Novotel Spitfires. This game was very much the Novotel Spitfires show where in the first eight minutes of the game, Novotel was up 5-0 with two goals coming from Major Ingkharratphithakon, a goal from captain, Mike Freeson, a goal by Tomas Stastny and Ken Kindborn. Aware tried to rally late in the first period with goals by Masato Kitayama and Roger Promthong, but Stastny stopped that with a goal with just fourteen second left in the period. Aware again tried to rally in the second period with Promthong getting his second goal of the night, which was followed by Novotel’s Seb Verdy getting his first goal of the season. Aware tried again in the third period with Promthong getting a hat trick, but it just wasn’t enough with Verdy getting his second goal of the night and Stastny getting his third of the night.

The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Tomas Stastny for his three goals and three assists.

The Jerky Monster Play of the Week went to Patrick Forstner for his game winning goal in the first game.

To finish off the show, Zack and Dom talk about what the four teams need to do to pull off wins in their next games.
