Lexicon continues dominance; SiamMandalay remains winless

Lexicon continue to find ways to win, coming out on top of SiamMandalay with a 5-2 win.

St-Denis, captain of Lexicon rounds the net.

The late game Sunday saw Aware take on KCG in what proved to be another offensive battle. Aware, dealing with a slew of injuries and other absences, picked up a few veteran substitutes, but unfortunately they could not overcome KCG’s stars Nick Lampson and Jan Isaksson. Isaksson opened the scoring early in the 1st period on a great drive to the net, followed immediately with a goal from captain Jesse Starosta off a slick feed from Lampson. KCG would add two more goals before the end of the frame, with Aware grabbing a much needed marker from Patrick Forstner.

Lampson got things going for KCG early in the 2nd period, but Aware mounted a comeback with goals from Kelly Shim and Devin Michael to make it 5-3 at the midway point. Despite their push, a costly penalty and subsequent Lampson powerplay goal sucked Aware’s momentum up. Starosta would add another powerplay goal and Brandon Vick sealed the game with a sweet bar-down snipe off a turnover. Aware captain Harrison Oztemel scored late in the 3rd to finalize the score at 8-4 KCG.
