On February 12, 2023, in our first game of the night, we had the Lexicon Lumberjacks going head to head with Aware. The Lexicon Lumberjacks took the lead in the first period with a goal by Kim Aarola. In the second period, Lexicon Lumberjacks, captain put their lead to 2-0 when he scored, but just a few minutes later, Aware captain, Harrison Oztemel started Aware’s comeback. In the third period, Aware sub, Stephen Sproule tied things up to force overtime. The overtime went scoreless to bring up the shootout. Aarola of the Lexicon Lumberjacks scored the game winner in the shootout, and Ben Kleineshay stopped Aware’s Mathieu Maillard to earn himself the Get Fresh Player of the Game.
