The late game Sunday saw Aware take on KCG in what proved to be another offensive battle. Aware, dealing with a slew of injuries and other absences, picked up a few veteran substitutes, but unfortunately they could not overcome KCG’s stars Nick Lampson and Jan Isaksson. Isaksson opened the scoring early in the 1st period on a great drive to the net, followed immediately with a goal from captain Jesse Starosta off a slick feed from Lampson. KCG would add two more goals before the end of the frame, with Aware grabbing a much needed marker from Patrick Forstner.

KCG dominated in their game against SiamMandalay by winning 9-1. The Get Fresh Player of the Game went to Jan Isaksson for his three goals and one assist.
Lexicon Lumberjacks extend their win streak to three with their 9-5 win over Aware with Denis Omelka winning the Get Fresh Player of the Game for his 4 goals and one assist.
Omelka also won the Easy Health Defensive Player of the Month for October and Lance Parker won the Easy Health Player of the Month for his outstanding play for the month of October.

In the late game, the 1-1 Aware squad took on the undefeated Lexicon Lumberjacks. Both teams came out strong, with Aware’s Mike White scoring first on a nice set up from Devin Michael followed by a quick goal from Oleg Kabakov. But wouldn’t be denied, turning up the heat and getting a slick goal from Roger Promthong before the end of the 1st period. Aware took the momentum into the second period, but Lexicon’s fast-footed defensemen Ken Kindborn and Denis Omelka had other plans.

The first game in week two SHL action saw Aware face off against Siam Mandalay, two teams looking for their first win of the season. Unfortunately, for Siam Mandalay, a last-minute injury forced a short bench, and Aware’s full squad took advantage. Aware opened the scoring with a goal from rookie Kelly Shim, cleaning up his own rebound in his first ever SHL shift. Siam Mandalay responded immediately with a great second-effort from Mike Poirier. That tying goal seemingly sparked something for Aware, as captain Harrison Oztemel and star forward Oleg Kabakov each scored two goals to end the first frame 5-2.
