Aware vs KCG November 15: 2020 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Leo Liao

On November 11, at 10:00 in our second game of the night, we had Aware facing off against KCG. KCG started things off with two goals in the first period, one by Winnie Luckanatinakorn and one by Michael White. In the second period, KCG increased their lead to three when Jari Eerikainen scored on Lance Parker. Early in the third period, Winnie Luckanatinakorn scored his second of the night. With just over seven minutes left to play, Aware finally get on the board when Roman Larin scored on Leo Liao. Jan Isaksson of KCG finished off the night with a goal with just four seconds left in the game. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Leo Liao for stopping 28 of 29 shots.

Novotel Spitfires vs Siam Mandalay November 15: 2020 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Ben Kleineschay

On November 15, at 9:00 pm, in our first game of the night we had the Novotel Spitfires going head to head with Siam Mandalay. Siam Mandalay opened things up early in the first period with a goal by Turner Johnson. Then early in the second period, Jordan Ashton of Siam Mandalay scored a power play goal to put them up by two. Ben Kleineschay closed up the net after that and the Novotel Spitfires scored three goals in the third period, one from Ken Kindborn and two from Novotel Spitfires’ captain, Mike Freeson. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Ben Kleineschay for stopping 27 of 29 shots and keeping the Novotel Spitfires in the game.

SHL News Week 5

On November 15, 2020 at 9:00 pm we had Novotel Spitfires vs Siam Mandalay. Siam Mandalay started things off when Turner Johnson scored off of a pass from Alex Phelps just under three minutes into the start of the game. Less than a minute into the second period, Yean Thankroekkiat hit Johnson with a pass who split the Novotel Spitfires’ defense and hit captain, Jordan Ashton with a back hand pass who fired one past Ben Kleineschay to put Siam Mandalay up by two goals. About seven minutes into the third period, Novotel Spitfires captain, Mike Freeson received a pass from Ken Kindborn to put Novotel on the board, with the second assist coming from Tomas Stastny. With just two minutes left in the game, Kindborn tried things up for Novotel Spitfires with the assist coming from Stastny. With just ten seconds left the game, Freeson scores the game winning goal with the assist coming from Mangkorn Sukwiboon. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the game went to Ben Kkeineshcay for his outstanding play between the pipes.

Aware vs Novotel Spitfires November 15, 2020 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Mike Freeson

In our second game of the night, at 10:00 pm, we had Aware facing off against the Novotel Spitfires. Things were pretty back and forth in the first period with neither team getting many scoring opportunities. The Novotel Spitfires scored two goals early in the second period. The first from Major Ingkharratphithakon, and the second from their captain, Mike Freeson. Early in the third period, John Schachnovsky put Aware on the board with a shot the bounced off of the Spitfires netminder, Lance Parker. Freeson increased Novotel’s lead to two again when he scored an unassisted goal in the middle of the third period. Aware tied things up with a goal by Roger Promthong and Roman Larin. With just 45 seconds left in the game, Ken Kindborn of the Novotel Spitfires scored an unassisted goal for the win. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Mike Freeson for his two goals.

In our first game of the night, at 9:00 pm, we had KCG vs Siam Mandalay. KCG came out on fire and scored 4 goals in the first period. They scored their 5th and final goal in the second period to end the game 5-2. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Jan Isaksson for his two goals in this one.

SHL News Week 4

We had some surprising events and some not so surprising events this week.

In our first game of the week, at 9:00 pm, we had KCG vs Siam Mandalay. Dream Ungkulpattanasuk had a rough start, letting in four goals in the first 12 minutes of play. The goals were scored by Jan Isaksson, Winnie Luckanatinakorn, Jesse Starosta, and Phu Suwachirat. Siam Mandalay did finally get on the board when sub Hideki Nagayama launched a sweet back hand past KCG’s netminder, Leo Liao with just over three minutes left in the first period. After this, Dream Ungkulpattanasuk found his pace and prevented any more pucks entering the net until there was about a minute and a half left in the second period and Isaksson scored his second of the night. Turner Johnson did score for Siam Mandalay early in the third period, but it just wasn’t enough to revive Mandalay and the final score was 5-2 for KCG. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Jan Isaksson for his two goals on the night.

Aware vs Siam Mandalay November 01, 2020 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Dream Ungkulpattanasuk

In our second game of the night on November 01, 2020 at 10 pm we had Siam Mandalay vs Aware. The first period was solid for both teams with no clear advantage for either one. With twelve seconds left in the second period, Patrick Forstner of Siam Mandalay put the puck past Aware’s netminder, Gabor Toth. Just over a minute into the third period, Siam Mandalay scored their second of the night when Tan Limpinphet also found the back of the net. Aware’s captain, Justin St-Denis tried to put some life back into Aware and scored a goal a minute later, but it just wasn’t enough to stop Siam and with twelve minutes left in the game, Yean Thanakroekkiat of Siam Mandalay scored to finish the game 3-1.

Novotel Spitfires vs KCG November 01, 2020 – Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the game Ben Kleineschay

In our first game of the night, on November 01, 2020 at 9:00 pm, we had Novotel Spitfires vs KCG. The battle for first place. Both teams had a record of 2-0 going into this game. The first period of this one was very back and forth with neither team getting many scoring opportunities. Early in the second period, Novotel’s captain, Mike Freeson, finally got one past Leo Liao to start things off. Things stayed at 1-0 until late in the second period when KCG took a high sticking penalty and the Spitfires took advantage with a goal by Scott Murray to put them up 2-0. Early in the second period, KCG got on the board when new player, Jan Isaksson scored on Ben Kleineschay. The game got even closer when there was a minute left in the game, KCG pulled their goalie and tied things up at 2. Unfortunately for KCG, Novotel’s Tomas Stastny received a pass from Freeson and found the back of the net to finish off the game 3-2.

SHL News Week 3

This week we were expecting some really exciting games, and we weren’t disappointed.

In our first game we had the two undefeated teams going head to head, Novotel Spitfires vs KCG. The first period saw things really go back and forth with neither team really able to take advantage. Early in the second period, Novotel’s captain, Mike Freeson put the puck past Leo Liao. Things stayed stuck locked down at 1-0 until late in the second period, KCG took a high sticking penalty, which led to Scott Murray, of the Spitfires, scoring a power play goal to give them a 2-0 lead. Early in the third period, KCG finally get on the board with a goal by Jan Isaksson. With just over a minute left in the game, KCG pulled their netminder to give them an extra attacker and with one minute left in the game, KCG tied things up when Jari Eerikainen got one past Ben Kleineschay. Just ten seconds later, Ken Kindborn hit Mike Freeson who then found Tomas Stastny who buried the puck for the win. The rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Ben Kleineschay for his outstanding play between the pipes.

Siam Mandalay vs Novotel October 25, 2020 – Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the game Tomas Stastny

In our second game of the night on October 25, 2020 at 22:00, we had Siam Mandalay facing off against the Novotel Spitfires. Novotel started things off when Tomas Stastny scored the only goal in the first period. Stastny scored his second goal early in the second period to give the Spitfires a 2-0 lead. Late in the second period, Siam Mandalay tied things up late in the second period. Early in the third, Siam Mandalay took the lead early in the third period with a goal by Tan Limpinphet, but less than a minute later, Novotel tied things up with a goal by Mangkorn Sukwiboon. Stastny scored the game winner with just over 4 minutes left, making it a hat trick night for him and earning the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game award.
