2018-2019 SHL Champions

We had a whirl wind of a year this year. Captain, Patrik Lundback, led Team Aware to a 10 game win streak to start off the season, finally losing to TRUE on January 20, 2019.

At the end of the regular season, Aware topped the pack with 30 points. The closest team were the Novotel Spitfires with 20 points.

Captain, Brad Wilson, led the Novotel Spitfires had a 5-4 record going into the Christmas break, and finished off the regular season with 20 points.

Mike Wilson’s TRUE team started off rough, losing their first 10 games of the season, finally beating Hertz on the January 13 and they finished off the season with 15 points.

Finals for the Second Season of the Sport Corner Siam Hockey League

On March 17, 2018 we had our final game of the playoffs for the second season of the Sport Corner Siam Hockey League.

To start things off, we had the president of the Sport Corner SHL, John Schachnovsky, say a few words and then invite the owner of The Sport Corner, Steve Lavender, out for the ceremonial puck drop.

Hertz started things off well in this one, scoring four goals in the opening period. One goal from Bill Bredesen which was assisted by Brandon Vick, two unassisted goals by Mike Triacca, and a goal by Andy Brine, which was assisted by Triacca and Kim Lidberg.

In the second period, Justin St. Denis scored an unassisted goal to give Hertz a 5-0 lead, but at 8:25, Corry Day scored a power play goal, which was assisted by Patrik Lundback and David Boere.

In the third period, Aware scored 2 more goals, both unassisted goals by Mangkorn Sukwiboon with the first one being another power play goal. Hertz stays strong to the end and won the game 5-3 with Aware dominating the shots 47-18.

The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Mike Triacca for his two goals and his assist.

After the game, the president of the Sport Corner SHL congratulate both teams on a good game and award The Sport Corner Playoff MVP to Hertz’s goaltender to Lance Parker for his superb play in all three playoff games and for stopping 44 of 47 shots in this game, which was presented by the owner of The Sport Corner. Next, Hertz was awarded the SHL Champion Ship Cup.
