SHL News Week 16

This week, Zack and Dom are joined in the studio by Aware’s goaltender, Lance Parker.

On March 28th, 2021 in our first game of the night at 9:00 pm, we had Novotel Spitfires vs Siam Mandalay. Novotel looked on form, when seven minutes, Seb Verdy scored a short handed goal. Siam Mandalay answered right back when Mitchel Morrison put one past Ben Kleineschay. Siam Mandalay scored two more unanswered goals in the first period, one by Win Khuhakaew and one by Mike Wilson. Early in the second period, Siam Mandalay scored their fourth unanswered goal, which was by Darius Konotopetz. The Spitfires did try to mount a comeback with Ken Kindborn scoring with just under eight minutes left in the second period, but Siam Mandalay just kept rolling and captain Jordan Ashton found the back of the net. Early in the third period, Siam Mandalay’s Homme Thaiyanont scored an unassisted goal, but Novotel wasn’t finished yet and they scored two goals, both from Major Ingkharratphithakon, but with just over thirty seconds left in the game, Siam Mandalay scored an empty netter to finish things off. The final score was Novotel Spitfires 4 – Siam Mandalay 7.

Aware vs KCG March 28, 2021 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Punn Phasukkijwatana

In our second game of the night on March 28, 2021 we had Aware vs KCG. KCG started things off right away when Punn Phasukkijwatana scored a power play goal with the assist coming from Time Phatigulsate. KCG didn’t let up and they scored two more goals in the first period, one from Peam Jaratwuttipreeda and one from Winnie Luckanatinakorn. Aware did try to start something in the second period when Roger Phromtong scored with the assists coming from Masato Kitiayam and Thor Chartsuwan. KCG just didn’t let up and scored their fourth goal of the night in the second period, this one Phasukkijwatana’s second goal of the night. KCG scored one more goal, this one an empty netter by captain Harrison Oztemel.

SHL News Week 15

Dom and Zack are joined in the studio this week by Jesse Starosta from KCG. We just finished off week 15 in the SHL, and in the first game of the night at 9:00 pm we had KCG vs Siam Mandalay. This game had lots of action and KCG took an early lead with goals from Time Phatigulsate and Jesse Starosta, but Siam Mandalay reduced the lead to one with a goal from Tan Limpinphet. In the second period, KCG scored two more goals, one from Jan Isaksson and a second from Phatigulsate to make it 4-1. Siam Mandalay brought them within two when Mike Wilson scored a short handed goal. In the third period, Siam Mandalay tied things up with goals from Darius Konotopetz and Turner Johnson, which forced an overtime period. The action was back and forth in OT, but neither team could get one past the netminder, which forced a sudden death shootout. First up for KCG was Jan Isaksson, but he was stopped by Dream Ungkulpattanasuk. First up for Siam Mandalay was Turner Johnson, who was stopped by Leo Liao. Second up for both KCG was Winnie Luckanatinakorn and Win Khuhakeaw for Siam Mandalay and both were stopped. Third up for KCG was Punn Phasukkjwatana, who was stopped by Unkulpattanasuk. Third up for Siam Mandalay was Yean Thanakroekkiat for put an amazing move on Liao and scored the game winner.

Aware vs Novotel Spitfires March 21, 2021 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Seb Verdy

In our second game of the night, on March 21, 2021 at 10:00 pm we had Aware facing off the number one team in the league, Novotel Spitfires. The Spitfires were came out ready to bounce back from the week before loss, and scored four unanswered goals, one from Mangkorn Sukwiboon, Seb Verdy, Ed McConnell and Peter Borjesson. The second period had more of the same with Novotel scoring two more unanswered goals, one from Ken Kindborn and a second from Sukwiboon. The third period saw nothing different with goals from Major Ingkharratphithakon, a second from Verdy and a third from Sukwiboon. Aware did finally score two goals in the last six minutes of the game, both from Roman Larin.

KCG vs Siam Mandalay March 21, 2021 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Turner Johnson

In our first game of the night on March 21, 2021 at 9:00 pm we had KCG facing off against Siam Mandalay. KCG started things off with two goals in the first period, one by Time Phatigulsate and a power play goal by Jesse Starosta. Late in the first period, Siam Mandalay cut the lead to one when Tan Limpinphet scored with just over a minute left in the period. The second period had KCG increase their to three with goals from Jan Isaksson and a second from Phatigulsate. Siam Mandalay reduced the lead to two with a short handed goal by Mike Wilson. The third period had Siam Mandalay tie things up with a goal by Darius Konotopetz and a late goal by Turner Johnson, which forced an overtime period. The 3 on 3 overtime period stayed scoreless to force a sudden death shootout between these two teams. Isaksson started things off for KCG but was stopped by Dream Ungkulpattanasuk. Johnson was first up for Siam Mandalay and he was stopped by Leo Liao. Next up for KCG was Winnie Luckanatinakorn and Win Khuhakaew for Siam Mandalay and both were stopped. In the third round we had Punn Phasukkjwatana for KCG and Yean Thanakroekkiat. Phasukkjwatana what shut down but Thanakroekkiat put a great move on Liao for the win.

SHL News Week 14

On March 14, 2021, in our first game of the night at 9:00 pm, we had Novotel Spitfires vs KCG. KCG got off to an early start with a goal from Patrick Forstner, which was assisted by Gabe Rosko. The Novotel Spitfires answered right back with a goal from Tomas Stastny, with the assists coming from Scott Murray and Seb Verdy. With just over three minutes left in the first period, KCG took the lead with a goal from Jesse Starosta with the assist coming from Forstner. With about a minute and a half left in the first period, Forstner increased KCG’s lead to two after receiving an assist from Jan Isaksson. In the second period, the Spitfires tied things up with goals from Christoph Anliker, assists coming from Andrew Ross and Michael White, and a short handed goal from Ken Kindborn, with the assist coming from Mangkorn Sukwiboon. Early in the third period, Novotel took the lead with a goal from captain, Mike Freeson, which was assisted by Murray. KCG’s captain, Harrison Oztemel tied things up, the assist from Andy Tse, and then Punn Phasukkjwatana, which was assisted by Forstner. With just forty-five seconds left in the game, KCG increased their lead to two when Starosta scored his second of the night, which was assisted by Oztemel. The Spitfires never gave up, and Freeson scored with just sixteen seconds left in the game, which was assisted by Tomas Stastny. The Final score of the game was Novotel Spitfires 5 and KCG 6, giving the Spitfires their second loss of the season.

Siam Mandalay vs Aware March 14, 2021 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Dream Ungkulpattanasuk

On March 14, 2021, in our second game of the night, at 10:00 pm, we had Siam Mandalay vs Aware. Siam Mandalay started things off early with a goal by Darius Konotopetz, which was assisted by Mitchel Morrison. With less than two minutes left in the first period, Siam Mandalay increased their lead to two when Tan Limpinphet scored off an assist from Alex Phelps and Darius Konotopetz. In the second period, Siam Mandalay increased their lead to three when Morrison scored a power play goal off an assist from Phelps and Ernesto Bauer. With just ten second left in the game, Limpinphet scored his second goal of the night with the assists coming from Alasdair Fawcett and Phelps.

SHL News Week 13

This week, Dom and Zack are joined in the studio by the first 100 point winner in the SHL, Harrison Oztemel.

Dom and Zack have a conversation with KCG captain, Harrison Oztemel about Oztemel’s opinion about Week 13’s games.

In the first game of the night at 9:00 pm we had Aware facing off against Oztemel’s KCG. At the end of the first period, Aware were leading 2-1. The second period was a completely different story as KCG scored three unanswered goals to make it 4-1 for KCG. The third period was a more even game with both teams scoring two goals, but it just wasn’t enough for Aware. The final score of the game was Aware 4 KCG 6.

SHL News Week 12

In our first game of the night, we had Novotel Spitfires going head to head with Siam Mandalay. This was a game of catchup all night for Siam Mandalay. In the first period, the Novotel Spitfires took an early lead with goals by Major Ingkharratphithakon and Ken Kindborn. Siam Mandalay tied things up with goals by Turner Johnson and Darius Konotopetz. In the second period, Novotel Spitfires again took the lead with goals by Christoph Anliker and Sen Verdy. Siam Mandalay tied things up again with goals by Konotopetz and Win Khuakeaw. In the third period, the Spitfires took the lead for the third time with two goals by Tomas Stastny and a goal by Mangkorn Sukwiboon. Siam Mandalay tried to do it for a third time with a second goal by Johnson, but there just wasn’t enough gas in the tank for them. The final score was Novotel Spitfires 7 Siam Mandalay 5.

Novotel Spitfires vs Siam Mandalay February 28, 2021 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Mangkorn Sukwiboon

In our first game of the night, at 9:00 pm, we had Novotel Spitfires going against Siam Mandalay. This was a back and forth game with the Spitfires taking an early lead with goals by Major Ingkharratphithakon and Ken Kindborn. Siam Mandalay fought back tying things up with goals by Turner Johnson and Darius Konotopetz. In the second period, Novotel took the lead again with a goal by Christoph Anliker. Siam Mandalay tied it up again when Konotopetz scored his second of the night. Late in the second period, Sen Verdy put the Spitfires back in the lead but Win Kruhakeaw tied it up again for Siam Mandalay. The Spitfires took the lead for the third time that night with two goals by Tomas Stastny and a from Mangkorn Sukwiboon. Siam Mandalay’s Johnson did score one more goal, but there just wasn’t enough juice in the tank for them to tie it up again and the final score was Novotel Spitfires 7 Siam Mandalay 5.
