Week 12 News

On February 6, 2020 we had our 12th week of games.

In our first game of the night at 8:30 we had PEAK Biolabs vs Aware. PEAK started things off with John Schachnovsky scoring first three minutes into the first period. Corry Day answered back for Aware three minutes after that. PEAK captain, Harrison Oztemel, in the second period. PEAK scored two more unanswered goals, one from Oztemel and one from Patrick Forstner. Aware did finally put another point on the board when Jari Eerikainen found the back of the net. Schachnovsky sealed the game with a goal with four minutes let in the game, and earning himself the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game with two goals and an assist.

Hertz vs Novotel Spitfires Week 12 Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game Mike Wilson

In our second game of the night on February 6th, 2020 at 9:30 we had Hertz vs Novotel Spitfires. The Spitfires started things off, but were leading going into the third period by 2 goals, but they just couldn’t hold on and Hertz came back and won it with Mike Wilson scoring the game winning goal earning himself the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.

Week 8 News

Week 8 News

Week 8 was on December 1st, 2019. In our first game of the night we had the Novotel Spitfires going head to head with PEAK Biolabs. PEAK started things off 10 minutes into the first period when Elias Bengtsson scored off of an assist from Adam Teodorsson and Ryan Yaden. In the second period, the Spitfires scored 3 goals, one from Bill Bredesen and two from Mike Freeson, to one goal from PEAK by Michael White. The third period saw Freeson get his third goal of the night to give Novotel the win and earn Freeson his second Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game in a row.

Week 4 to Week 7 News

Week 4 was on November 14. In the first game we had Novotel Spitfires vs Aware. Aware totally dominated this game, scoring 4 goals in the first period, one from Devin Michael, one from Matt Johnson and two from Brandon Vick. The Spitfires did score one in the first period, which was by Mike Freeson. Aware scored 2 more goals in the second period, one from Corry Day and a second by Devin Michael. The Spitfires did score two goals in the third period, one from Marcel Bouwens and one from Brad Wilson, but Aware scored one final goal in the third, which was the one to give Vick his hat trick, earning himself the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.

Hertz vs PEAK 7 Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game Win Kruhakeaw

In our first game of night at 8:30 we had Hertz vs PEAK Biolabs.  This was a hard game by both teams, but Hertz came out with a 5-4 win.  The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game for his outstanding offensive play all night.

Aware vs Hertz Week 3 Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game Jordan Ashton

In our second game of the night, we had Aware going head to head with Hertz. These teams were pretty even from the beginning with both teams scoring a goal in the first period and both teams scoring 2 goals in the second period. Hertz scored the final goal under a minute into the third period to finish things off 4-3. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Hertz captain, Jordan Ashton for his goal and assist.

Hertz vs PEAK Biolabs Week 2 Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game Patrick Forstner

In our first game of the night we had Hertz going head to head with PEAK. With so many players missing from Hertz’s lineup, they just couldn’t keep up with PEAK and PEAK won this one 9-2. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Patrick Forstner for getting a hat-trick on the night.

Week 1 SHL News

On October 10th, 2019, the Sport Corner Siam Hockey League kicked off their 4th season.  

To start things off, we had the opening ceremony, where the president of the league said a few words, introduced out sponsors and had a skills test for our sponsors.

In our first game of the night at 8:30 we had Novotel Spitfires going head to head with Hertz.  These teams were pretty evenly matched through out the game, and by the end of the second period, the Spitfires were ahead 2-1.  At the start of the second period, the Spitfires scored two quick goals to open things up, but Hertz fought back and brought it within one again.  With just over two minutes left in the game, Hertz pulled their netminder, Lance Parker, and tried desperately to tie things up, but with just seconds left in the game, Spitfires captain, Brad Wilson send the puck down the ice and to have it curve into the net to seal the win for the Novotel Spitfires.  Hertz did dominate the Spitfires in shots 42 to 25, but SHL rookie goalie, Yu Cheng Liao (Leo) stopped 39 of those 42 to shots which earned him the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.

In our second game of the night we had PEAK facing off against Aware.  At the end of the second period, the score was tied at two, but in the second period, PEAK really opened things up, scoring four unanswered goals.  The third period saw Aware trying to make a comeback, but with just ten minutes left in the game, PEAK captain, Harrison Oztemel scored his third goal of the night and the final score of the game was 6-4 for PEAK.  Oztemel’s hat-trick and assist earned him the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.

Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game – PEAK vs Aware – Harrison Oztemel – Week 1

In our season opener, in the second game we had PEAK going head to head with Aware.  At the end of the second period, things were tied at one, but in the second period, PEAK took control and scored four unanswered goals.  The third periods saw Aware trying to make a comeback, but PEAK captain, Harrison Oztemel sealed the deal when he scored his third goal, giving himself a hat-trick on the night and earning himself the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.

Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game – Novotel Spitfires vs Hertz – Yu Cheng Liao (Leo) – Week 1

For the opening night of games on October 10th, 2019, at 8:30 we have the Novotel Spitfires going head to head with Hertz.  Both teams fought hard, but the Spitfires won the game in the closing seconds 5-3.  Hertz peppered rookie goaltender, Yu Cheng Liao (Leo) with 42 shots of which he stopped 39, earning himself the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.
