In our first game of the night, at 9:00 pm, we had Novotel Spitfires going against Siam Mandalay. This was a back and forth game with the Spitfires taking an early lead with goals by Major Ingkharratphithakon and Ken Kindborn. Siam Mandalay fought back tying things up with goals by Turner Johnson and Darius Konotopetz. In the second period, Novotel took the lead again with a goal by Christoph Anliker. Siam Mandalay tied it up again when Konotopetz scored his second of the night. Late in the second period, Sen Verdy put the Spitfires back in the lead but Win Kruhakeaw tied it up again for Siam Mandalay. The Spitfires took the lead for the third time that night with two goals by Tomas Stastny and a from Mangkorn Sukwiboon. Siam Mandalay’s Johnson did score one more goal, but there just wasn’t enough juice in the tank for them to tie it up again and the final score was Novotel Spitfires 7 Siam Mandalay 5.
We’ve just finished off the eleventh week of the SHL.
In our first game of the night, we had KCG going head to head with Siam Mandalay. This was really a game physical play vs a game of skill play. At the end of the first period, the score was tied one-one with a goal by Ernesto Bauer for Siam Mandalay and a goal by Jan Isaksson for KCG. In the second period, Siam Mandalay took the lead and increased it to two with both goals coming from Turner Johnson. Early in the third period, Siam Mandalay increased their lead to three with a goal by Darius Konotopetz. With just over five minutes left in the third period, it was like Siam Mandalay just ran out of gas and KCG’s Jan Isaksson scored, followed by a goal from Peam Jaratwuttipreada. Isaksson tied things up with just over two minutes left in the game and Patrick Forstner getting the game winning goal with less than thirty seconds left in the game.
In our second game of the night at 10:00 pm, we had Aware going head to head with the Novotel Spitfires. Things didn’t look good for Aware when just eight minutes into the first period the Novotel Spitfires were up 5-0 with goals coming from Mike Freeson, Tomas Stastny, Ken Kindborn and two goals from Major Ingkharratphithakon. With two minutes left in the first period, Aware tried to mount a comeback with goals by Masato Kitayama and Roger Promthong, but Stastny stopped that by scoring his second with just fourteen seconds left in the first period. Early in the second period, Aware’s Promthong scored his second of the night, but midway through the second period, the Spitfires increased their lead to four again with a goal by Seb Verdy, his first of the season. Aware tried to rally again seven minutes into the third period with Promthong getting his third goal of the night, but Verdy and Stastny shut that down with a goal a piece. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Tomas Stastny for his three goals and three assists.
In our second game on February 14, 2021 we had Siam Mandalay going head to head with Aware. Early in the first period, Siam Mandalay’s captain, Jordan Ashton scores. About mid way through the first period, Roger Promthong of Aware tied things up. Late in the first period, Siam Mandalay took the lead again with a short handed goal by Tan Limpinphet. Aware stayed strong through the second period and most of the third period, but late in the third period, Mike Wilson scored for Siam Mandalay, which was followed less than a minute later with Limpinphet’s second goal of the night. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Dream Ungkulpattanasuk for stopping 18 of 19 shorts on the night.
On February 14, 2021, in our first game of the night we had the Novotel Spitfires vs KCG. This was a hard fought game for both teams with the Spitfires scoring the first goal in the first period by Scott Murray and KCG scoring their first goal in the second period by Jan Isaksson. The third period was scoreless, forcing an overtime period. Just a minute and a half into the overtime period had Christoph Anliker hitting Tomas Stastny with a pass who blasted it past Leo Liao for the win. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Anliker for his hard work in the offensive and defensive zone all night.

In our first game of the night we had the Novotel Spitfires facing off against Aware. Novotel are coming off of a tough loss while Aware are coming off a huge win. This could have been the moment to turn things around for Aware, but sadly, they allowed three goals in the opening period. One goal by Novotel Spitfires captain, Mike Freeson, one goal by Ken Kindborn and one goal by Mangkorn Sukwiboon. Aware attempted a comeback and started off with a goal in the second period by Masato Kitayama, and followed that up with a goal in the third period by Roman Larin. It just wasn’t enough and Freeson scored his second of the night midway through the third period to halt Aware’s comeback, earning himself the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.

KCG tied things up when captain, Harrison Oztemel, scored, and then took the lead with less than a minute left in the first period when Gabe Rosko scored. KCG increased their lead to two with a goal by Jan Isaksson. Siam Mandalay tied things up with goals by Mitchel Morrison and Darius Konotopetz. Siam Mandalay took the lead when Konotopetz scored his second of the night and Tan Limpinphet finished things off for Siam Mandalay. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Darius Konotopetz for his two goals and assist.
