SHL News Week 10

We had Zack back with us this week.

In our first game we had Novotel Spitfires going against KCG. With just over five minutes left in the first period, sub Stephen Sproule hit Scotty Murray who scored to the Novotel Spitfires. Thing were pretty quite for both team until the Novotel was called for a hooking penalty late in the second period which KCG capitalized on and Punn Phasukkjwatana found Jan Isaksson who scored with less than a minute left in the second period. The play was back and forth for the third period with neither team able to get past the netminders. Just a minute and a half into the overtime period had the Spitfires’, Christoph Anliker catch Tomas Stastny in the high slot who rifled a snapshot past Liao for the win. The Rolling Sone Pizza Player of the Game went to Christoph for his outstanding offensive and defensive play all night.

Siam Mandalay vs Aware February 14, 2021 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Dream Ungkulpattanasuk

In our second game on February 14, 2021 we had Siam Mandalay going head to head with Aware. Early in the first period, Siam Mandalay’s captain, Jordan Ashton scores. About mid way through the first period, Roger Promthong of Aware tied things up. Late in the first period, Siam Mandalay took the lead again with a short handed goal by Tan Limpinphet. Aware stayed strong through the second period and most of the third period, but late in the third period, Mike Wilson scored for Siam Mandalay, which was followed less than a minute later with Limpinphet’s second goal of the night. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Dream Ungkulpattanasuk for stopping 18 of 19 shorts on the night.

Novotel Spitfires vs KCG February 14, 2021 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Christoph Anliker

On February 14, 2021, in our first game of the night we had the Novotel Spitfires vs KCG. This was a hard fought game for both teams with the Spitfires scoring the first goal in the first period by Scott Murray and KCG scoring their first goal in the second period by Jan Isaksson. The third period was scoreless, forcing an overtime period. Just a minute and a half into the overtime period had Christoph Anliker hitting Tomas Stastny with a pass who blasted it past Leo Liao for the win. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Anliker for his hard work in the offensive and defensive zone all night.

SHL News Week 9

Zack couldn’t make it to this recording, but Juhani Ijas joined Dom in the studio for this episode.

In our first game of the night we had the Novotel Spitfires facing off against Aware. Novotel are coming off of a tough loss while Aware are coming off a huge win. This could have been the moment to turn things around for Aware, but sadly, they allowed three goals in the opening period. One goal by Novotel Spitfires captain, Mike Freeson, one goal by Ken Kindborn and one goal by Mangkorn Sukwiboon. Aware attempted a comeback and started off with a goal in the second period by Masato Kitayama, and followed that up with a goal in the third period by Roman Larin. It just wasn’t enough and Freeson scored his second of the night midway through the third period to halt Aware’s comeback, earning himself the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.

KCG vs Siam Mandalay February 07, 2021 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Darius Konotopetz

In our second game of the night we had KCG vs Siam Mandalay. Siam Mandalay started things with a goal by Patrick Forstner. KCG tied things up when captain, Harrison Oztemel, scored, and then took the lead with less than a minute left in the first period when Gabe Rosko scored. KCG increased their lead to two with a goal by Jan Isaksson. Siam Mandalay tied things up with goals by Mitchel Morrison and Darius Konotopetz. Siam Mandalay took the lead when Konotopetz scored his second of the night and Tan Limpinphet finished things off for Siam Mandalay. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Darius Konotopetz for his two goals and assist.

Novotel Spitfires vs Aware February 07, 2021 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Mike Freeson

In our first game of the night, we had the Novotel Spitfires going against Aware. Novotel starting things off scoring three goals in the first period, one from Mike Freeson, Ken Kindborn and Mangkorn Sukwiboon. Aware finally got on the board in the second period with a goal from Masato Kitayama. Early in the third period, Aware brought it within one goal when Roman Larin. Freeson stopped the comeback when he scored his second of the night, earning himself the Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game.

SHL News Week 8

Dom and Zack talk about the games on December 13th, 2020.

The fist game of the night was Aware vs KCG. This was the best game that Aware has played to date, but they just couldn’t put all the things in the right place and KCG won this one 3-2.

The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Time Phatigulsate for his goal and assist.

In the second game of the night, at 10:00 pm, it was Siam Mandalay vs the Novotel Spitfires. Siam Mandalay scored the first and only goal in the first period with Patrick Forstner going coast to coast and firing one past Ben Kleineschay. In the second period, The Novotel Spitfires tied things up with a goal by Tomas Stastny, and took the lead when Ed McConnell put one in. Just a minute after McConnell’s goal, Siam Mandalay tied things up with a goal by Homme Thaiyanont and then took the lead with just thirty-one seconds left in the period with a goal by Mike Wilson. The third period was all Siam Mandalay with one goal each by Darius Konotpetz, Yean Thanakroekkiat and Turner Johnson to make the final score 6-2 for Siam Mandalay.

Siam Mandalay vs Novotel Spitfires December 13, 2020 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Turner Johnson

On December 13th, at 10:00 we had Siam Mandalay going against the Novotel Spitfires. Patrick Forstner of Siam Mandalay scored an unassisted goal just seven minutes in. Tomas Stastny of the Novotel Spitfires tied things up at 15:56 of the second period with the assist coming from Mangkorn Sukwiboon. Novotel took the lead just four minutes later when Ed McConnell scored with the assists coming from Stastny and Ken Kindborn. Less than a minute later, Siam Mandalay tied things up when Homme Thaiyanont scored, with the assists coming from Siam Mandalay captain, Jordan Ashton and Patrick Forstner. With just thirty-one seconds left the second period, Siam Mandalay take the lead when Mike Wilson fired one past Ben Kleineschay, with the assists coming form Darius Konotopetz and Mitchel Morrison. In the third period, Siam Mandalay scored three unanswered goals, one each from Konotopetz, Yean Thanakroekkiat and Turner Johnson, to make the final score Siam Mandalay 6, Novotel Spitfires 2.

Aware vs KCG December 13, 2020 – Rolling Stone Pizza PoG Time Phatigulsate

On December 13, 2020, in our first game of the night at 9:00 pm, we had Aware facing off against KCG. The first period remained scoreless with both goalies putting in some great work. Just five minutes into the second period, Time Phatigulsate scored the first goal for KCG, with the assist going to Punn Phasukkjwatana. Just 4 minutes into the third period had Aware’s Brandon Vick score an unassisted goal. Three minutes later and KCG’s Winnie Luckanatinakorn scored with assists coming from Phatigulsate and Jan Isaksson. With just seventeen seconds left in the game, KCG increased their lead to two when Jesse Starosta scored an empty net goal, with the assist coming from Gabe Rosko. Aware reduced the lead back down to one when John Schachnovsky scored off of an assist from Stephen Sproule.

SHL News Week 7

In our first game of the night on November 29, 2020 at 9:00 pm we had the Novotel Spitfires going head to head with Aware. The Spitfires came out on fire with goals by Tomas Stastny, and Major Ingkharratphithakon in the first period. This was followed up by three goals in the second period, one my Novotel Spitfires captain, Mike Freeson, Ken Kindborn and another my Ingkharratphithakon. Early in the third period, Aware did finally get on the board with a goal by Masato Kitayama and Arnold Vattanapanyakul. The Novotel Spitfires answered right back with a goals by Freeson and Stastny. Aware did finish the night off with a goal by Peam Jaratwuttipreeda, but the final score of the night was Novotel Spitfires 7 Aware 3. The Rolling Stone Pizza Player of the Game went to Major Ingkharratphithakon for his two goals and an assist.
